Quirke and Donaghy to go from friends to foes

Basketball Weekend previewKerry footballers Micheál Quirke and Kieran Donaghy are included in the Tralee Tigers squad that travels to Dublin tomorrow to face DCU Saints but 24 hours later they are in direct opposition in the Tralee Town Board football final.

Donaghy plays for Austin Stacks while towering midfielder Quirke is a Kerins O'Rahillys clubman.

The Saints are awaiting medical updates on flu victims Kenny Gamble, Mike Trimmer and Mark Nagle. Both clubs hold 100 per cent records.

The other GAA crossover player, Ballina's Ronan McGarrity, also returns to Superleague action against the Tallaght-based Hoops having missing last week's game against St Paul's.

The Killarney club have changed their foreign recruit this week, a former player, the American Justin Wingard, replacing Jacob Mitchell ahead of their meeting with the University of Ulster.

Elsewhere, UCD Marian travel to Cork to meet Neptune on Sunday, while the Limerick Lions make the long trek north to face Belfast Star.

Champions Killester will be looking to atone for their defeat to Hoops when they entertain the UCC Demons.

Meanwhile, Mark Grennell has taken over full coaching duties with the Killester women's team following the sudden departure of John O'Connor and Marie O'Connor.
