Pat Hughes has earmarked Quinze, his runaway Tramore winner, for the Guinness Gold Cup at Tralee next week but, with a maximum 12lbs penalty already assured, he can safely pick up some additional travelling expenses at Roscommon this evening where he only has a mandatory 5lb penalty.

Quinze is better at a slightly longer trip, but the fashion in which he dominated the Galway Hurdle winner Black Queen at Tramore suggests he has enough speed for the 1m 4f New Holland Finance Handicap.

Tony Martin's fondness for She's Our Mare was justified when she too cruised home in the Heineken Handicap Hurdle at Cork on the August Bank Holiday with yesterday's Richard Power Hurdle winner Sparkey Smith in fourth place.

Enzeli, whose dual classic-winning half-sister Ebadiyla kept on improving all through her second season, can, likewise, show sufficient progress since winning his maiden at Down Royal. Enzeli can beat Michael Kinane's mount Vagrant in the International Race, a contest where the purse and the status are hardly in keeping with the title.

Two smart but erratic chasers, Heist and Guest Performance, top the weights in the Irish Permanent Flexible Mortgage Hamdicap. Both ran in the Compaq Galway Plate and here Guest Performance earned prizemoney through finishing sixth to the dominant English challenger Amlah. Those placings can be duplicated.

The top three in the bumper should likewise prove the principals and the fact that An Seabhac justified 5 to 2 favouritism in the bumper at Dundalk yesterday will not be missed by bookmakers or punters.

The trio concerned include Hentrix, trained in Co Wexford by John Berry, and already his record is topped by a 15-length victory against An Seabhan at Leopardstown.
