Mark Philippoussis beat Jonas Bjorkman, conqueror of Britain's Tim Henman, to reach the semifinals of the Grand Slam Cup in Munich yesterday.
The big-serving Australian won 4-6 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 after serving 13 aces and battling back from a break down in the second set against the Swede.
"I got off to a bit of a slow start," said Philippoussis. "It was up and down, I had a lot of loose points in the first set.
"I gradually started playing good tennis. I was happy with how I played at the end."
