The handicap committee in Rathfarnham must be sharpening their pencils on foot of the purple patch enjoyed by Penny Walker this month. The 36-handicapper began her fine run by winning her class in the Ford Qualifiers with a nett 73 on Tuesday 6th. A week later she partnered Anne Burnett to 42 points and second place in a fourball and last Friday she claimed third place with Pat Walters (Courtown). It was a husband and wife effort on Saturday as Penny Walker and former Irish hockey international Stuart Walker lead the qualifiers in the club mixed foursomes matchplay with a fine 66 nett.
