The golfing exploits of Rathfarnham member Penny Walker caught our attention last month when she featured in a singles, two fourballs and led the qualifiers for the club's mixed foursomes matchplay. The committee ignored our hint that they trim her handicap so Penny took matters into her own hands to win last week's singles with a brilliant 46 points that saw her cut five shots to 31. She collected an amazing 28 points on the first nine and despite a couple of "blanks", she added a further 18 on the second nine to win by seven shots.
