1.30pm - Men’s marathon

And then there were three. Irleand have just a trio athletes yet to compete at the Olympics - and they get to make their Rio bow on the last day of the Games.

Kevin Seaward, Mick Clohisey and Paul Pollock are all lining up in the men’s marathon, which starts at 1.30pm on Sunday.

Medal hopes appear slim however, with all three athletes set to make their first ever appearance at the Olympics. Pollock’s inclusion in Ireland’s side caused controversy as he ran a slower qualifying time than Moldovan-born Sergiu Ciobanu by 24 seconds yet still got the nod for Brazil.
