It doesn't quite match Ben Curtis's progression from Hooters' Tour winner to British Open champion but former polo shirt recipient Dylan Orpen is thrilled to have moved up to the ranks of Golf Masters fourball winners.Orpen was a mere 12-year-old when a transcription error led to his name being scrambled on our weekly leaderboard.

A polo shirt consolation seemed only fair and we duly delivered - do you think that the R & A will be sending Mark Roe a polo shirt for his transcription error?

It has taken four years of graft, but Orpen has now earned a prize by his own hand as his Rookie's Revenge selection topped our week 17 standings with €364,750. Vijay Singh (tied second), Brian Davis (tied sixth), Kenny Perry (tied eighth) and JL Lewis (tied 22nd) scooped plenty of the double money on offer at the British Open.

Skip Kendall and Jeff Maggert chipped in just enough to keep the Rookies ahead of Tom O'Connor's Tossers. If they are going for overall victory, the Tossers are leaving it pretty late. They were languishing in 13,990th a week ago and Tom decided that radical surgery was needed.

Out came Sergio Garcia, Jesper Parnevik, Duffy Waldorf and JJ Henry and in went Gary Murphy, Vijay Singh, Craig Stadler and Phillip Price. The net difference was €247,000 on the week and it propelled the Tossers to 12,054th overall. Not enough to threaten the leaders yet, but good enough to earn Tom an item of Cutter and Buck golf apparel.

There's bonus money for everybody and €400,000 for a home winner at this week's Irish Open. The Greater Hartford Open is also a counting tournament.
