All-Ireland League: Dublin University are believed to be lodging an objection with the IRFU over Galwegians' use of a UCG player, Killian Finnane, in AIB All-Ireland League Division One games against themselves and St Mary's which could have serious ramifications for the relegation situation in the top flight.

Galwegians believed that Finnane qualified to play for them as a dual status player but an IRFU source has confirmed to Trinity that he may not have been registered properly. If this is proven to be the case, the punishment for fielding an unregistered, or improperly registered player, is the deduction of two points which, were it applied, would mean that Galwegians would finish below Trinity on points difference and would therefore be relegated instead of the students.
