Athletics: Sonia O'Sullivan will continue her build-up for the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon with another test over 1,500 metres at the Telstra Grand Prix in Sydney today.

Last weekend O'Sullivan clocked four minutes 12.01 seconds when winning in Melbourne but today's race is likely to provide some stronger opposition.

O'Sullivan's great rival, Paula Radcliffe, will lead the Britain and Northern Ireland team for the long-course event at the 29th IAAF Ireland World Cross Country Championships in Dublin on March 24th-25th.

Meanwhile, four coaches have been appointed by the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) in the first stage of a new national coaching committee set up under the association's review group.

The sprints and hurdles coaching position will be filled by Paddy Fay from Raheny and the distance running position by Peter McDermott from Clonliffe. Ciaran Conlon from Meath takes up the jumps coaching and Marita Walton, still the Irish record holder in the discus, takes over the throws coaching.

Rowing: Britain's gold medallists Matthew Pinsent and Tim Foster have announced that they are to continue rowing until the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
