Connacht outhalf Niall O’Connor will complete his move back to Ulster this week, having moved to the Sportsground 12 months ago on a two-year deal.

The decision by Ian Humphreys to move to London Irish prompted O’Connor to return to Ravenhill.

O’Connor, who will be 25 next month, made 20 appearances for Connacht during the season, scoring 119 points. The Derry native played 51 games for Ulster, scoring 212 points, before moving to Connacht a year ago.

O’Connor’s move is expected to be rubber-stamped this week following negotiations between Connacht, Ulster and the IRFU.

Connacht will have former Scottish international outhalf Dan Parks next season, with Miah Nikora and Matthew Jarvis also battling for the number 10 shirt.
