THE Margin wishes the best of luck to the 24 brave four-person teams participating in the one-day corporate challenge being organised today by Gaisce - The President's Award and sponsored by Cara and Compaq. They gather in Blessington this morning where they will proceed to engage in abseiling, crossing a minefield to retrieve vital documents (their bus tickets home, perhaps), escaping from Alcatrazz on a zip wire, going blindfold through an assault course and firing on enemy targets before they escape through a spiders' web and return to base.
Among those taking part are a clutch of financial companies including Ulster Bank markets, Eagle Star, Davys, Coopers & Lybrand, Hiberian Insurance and Scottish Provident.
Other brave souls come from companies as diverse as Premier Dairies, Cara, RTE, HJ Heinz, Reuters and Ericssons. But the only participant which the Margin can see picking up a bit of business on the day is BUPA. Application forms at the start line, perhaps?
