EF Language has moved into a narrow lead as the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race moves into its fifth day. Paul Cayard's yacht is 0.8 miles ahead of fellow Norwegian entrant Innovation Kvaerner, skippered by Knut Frostad. The two boats are nearly 15 miles ahead of Monaco's Merit Cup, which is skippered by Grant Dalton, while British hope Silk Cut is 8.5 miles further back in fourth spot.

Pre-race favourite Toshiba is well over 100 miles behind the leaders.
