CBC captain George Mahon scored their first after eight minutes. Winger Frank Keegan missed the difficult conversion but made amends with a penalty goal.

CBC got their second try when Terry O'Malley took his chance and put CBC 13 points ahead. They scored again when Niall Kearns went over just before the break.
