ASTON Villa striker Savo Milosevic hit a first half hat trick for Yugoslavia as the Faroes were buried under an avalanche of goals in a World Cup qualifier in Toftir yesterday.

Milosevic began the 8-1 rout in the European Group Six tie with a goal after seven minutes.

His second in the 36th minute was a delightfully executed lob over goalkeeper Jens Knudsen's head.

Milosevic completed his hat trick on the stroke of half time when he followed up to score from close range after Knudsen had dived to block a shot from Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Yugoslavs' other marksmen were Slavisa Jokanovic (2), Predrag Mijatovic, Vladimir Jugovic and Dragan Stojkovic.
