Paul McGrath, capped a record 83 times for Ireland, maybe on the verge of retirement. Speaking on the Des Cahill Show on RTE Radio 1 yesterday, McGrath said: "I've resigned myself to the fact that this might be it."McGrath, who left Derby County at the end of last season, has not played for Sheffield United since before Christmas and is struggling to overcome the latest in a long list of operations on his troublesome knee."It's not looking good. I had the knee cleaned out and thought I'd be back by now but even when I jog there's a lot of pain," he said. "It's giving me so much pain now, I may not be able to play at any level anymore. I can't complain . . . I'm 38 and I've had a good innings," he added.
