Donegal 0-12 Clare 2-4 Donegal saw off Clare to maintain their 100 per cent league record at MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey, yesterday.

They can thank under-21 star Colm McFadden for getting them the win. McFadden had four second-half points, all spectacular efforts from distance. Two came from sideline kicks, one from a 45 and one from a free.

Clare were not flattered by their 2-3 to 0-2 half-time lead, however. They gave the Donegal defence a torrid time and their no-nonsense approach had their opponents reeling.

The second half saw an improvement from the home side. By the 65th minute they were on level terms through Brendan Devenney. Then McFadden stepped up to kick a 45 followed by a second sideline kick from 40 metres.
