BRITISH AND IRISH CUP Jersey 12 Leinster 16:Leinster 'A' recovered from a tough first 40 minutes to score two second-half tries and seal a hard-fought BI Cup victory on the Channel Island of Jersey.
The Island side’s powerful scrummage, allied to a determined defensive effort, left the Irish men six points adrift at the break.
Outhalf Michael Le Bourgeois slotted four penalties from five attempts while Noel Reid was on target twice for the visitors.
The course of the match turned with two tries in three minutes from Leinster. Turnover ball sparked a 60-metre attack which ended with Leo Auva’a crashing over in the 48th minute.
Soon it was the turn of backrow colleague Rhys Ruddock, with the skipper rounding off another powerful attacking phase with the crucial score.
