FA Premiership: Leeds United midfielder Jody Morris has been charged with rape by English police investigating allegations of a serious sexual assault.

Morris, (24), was rearrested yesterday morning with two other men following claims a 20-year old woman was assaulted in the Leeds area in the early hours of October 7th.

Police also charged one of the other men, a 26-year old from London, with rape. A 20-year old man was released on police bail.

Morris and the 26-year old are due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court this morning.

Leeds United could not immediately be contacted for comment but earlier yesterday confirmed that Morris had answered police bail.

"A 24-year old man, currently living in Leeds, and a 26-year old man from London, have both been charged with rape," West Yorkshire police said in a statement. "A 20-year old man, currently living in Leeds, has been released on police bail pending further inquiries."
