Golf clubs throughout Ireland have been invited, for the first time, to enter teams in the Rules of Golf inter-club quiz which this year will be supported by the Royal and Ancient Club.
The inter-club quiz, now in its fifth year, will test the knowledge of the rules of golf of club members and has proved very popular since first run in 1995, when the winners were Broadway golf club. The Irish clubs should add an extra dimension to the event, which starts in April. Played on a knock-out basis, the county finals will take place in September and the regional finals in October.
The six winning teams at the regional finals will travel to St Andrews for the final on November 7th in the R&A clubhouse. The trip to St Andrews for the finalist will include accommodation, the final in the famous `Big Room' and dinner later that evening. Titelist are donating over 5,000 Tour Distance golf balls for the county finals and holdalls for the regional play-offs.
