Tomorrow’s sprint races at Tipperary have been abandoned – with an 8am inspection called this morning to assess the prospects for the rest of the card.

Following an inspection on Tuesday, the sprint course was found to be waterlogged, which has led to the abandonment of the Listed Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes and the Sean Barrett Bloodstock Maiden.

The remainder of the course is currently raceable, with the going described as heavy.

Today’s meeting at Bellewstown is subject to the track passing a 7.30am precautionary inspection due to the threat of overnight rain.

Henry Cecil had his first victory at Southwell in five years yesterday when Mingun Bell landed the opener, the Novice Stakes.
