Runaway leaders Ireland kept up their relentless gallop with another four wins in the European Indoor Bowls team championship in Jersey yesterday. World pairs champions Phillis Nolan, from Blackrock, and Margaret Johnston landed a winning double. Johnston and Murial Wilkinson survived a late scare - losing a six at the penultimate end - to see off Welsh pair Ann Sutherland and Janet Ackland 22-19.
Nolan also swept aside Guernsey's Carol Ingrouille 23-13 in the triples.
Ireland lead with 36 points, comfortably ahead of England (27 points) and Wales (23 points) after 11 sessions.
