Interesting Alliance

The 50th season of the Leinster Ladies Alliance got underway with an outing at the Grange yesterday, the first of six monthly singles events. Anne White (Woodenbridge) is the Alliance's new captain, with former international Therese O'Reilly (Grange) serving as president for a second year and Kate Overend (Carrickmines) into her third season as secretary. Apart from the monthly outings, the Alliance stages its own foursomes and matchplay events. On most weekends between now and March there will also be a fourball match against the leading male players from a Leinster club.
