After a week of Manchester United hysteria on the streets of Dublin, Eric Cantona turned up, this time in court protecting his image. Cantona was awarded £50,000 by a court in Dijon which ruled that merchandising was being sold in France without his approval.
Cantona, always very protective of his image even when he was playing in Manchester where he demanded a percentage of everything with the Cantona brand, put in an initial claim for £2 million. Proving his continuing popularity, Cantona continues to work with Man Utd on various initiatives.
