Herb Of Grace is napped to return to winning ways in the Scottish Equitable/Jockeys Association Auction Stakes at Goodwood today.
After a satisfactory fourth on her debut in July, the Julie Cecil-trained filly duly won a maiden over seven furlongs at Warwick. Herb Of Grace then followed-up at Newmarket in August before finishing down the field when made favourite for a competitive 20-runner nursery at York's Ebor meeting.
The daughter of Rudimentary was staying on, albeit at one pace, when stopped in her tracks and would have finished much closer behind the winner Hoh Steamer than the eight and a half lengths she was beaten at the line.
Although she has shown useful form already, Herb Of Grace is still open to considerable improvement. She is selected in the expectation that she can progress again to record her third success of the campaign.
Henry Cecil's smart performer Chester House is a confident choice in the £25,000 added ROA Foundation Stakes. The three-year-old was involved in the best finish of the year last time when beaten two short heads into third in the Group One Juddmonte International Stakes over 10-furlongs at York.
Roland O'Sullivan's versatile performer Harlequin Walk can repeat last year's success in the Watson and Philip Claiming Handicap.
