Cistercian Roscrea 2-18 Enniscorthy CBS 0-10:Roscrea midfielder Seamus Hennessy stole the show in the Leinster Colleges senior A hurling championship preliminary-round tie at Danesfort, Kilkenny, yesterday, scoring nine points, five from play.
Roscrea were 1-2 to 0-0 in front when Rory Shanahan added an eighth-minute goal. Enniscorthy fought back, with Gerard Foley scoring four points. By the interval Enniscorthy had cut the arrears to two points - 1-4 to 0-5.
In the second half it was pretty much all Roscrea as their scoring return of 1-14 to 0-5 indicates. Midway through the half they eased into an 1-11 to 0-7 lead and it was all over for Enniscorthy when Nicholas Minnock goaled in the 54th minute for a 2-15 to 0-9 lead.
Roscrea will face Castlecomer CS in the quarter-final.
