The Hazeltine National Golf Club, site of Tony Jacklin's famous 1970 US Open win, has been named as the venue for the 2016 Ryder Cup.
Jacklin became the first British-born golfer in 50 years to win the US Open, and the venue also played host to the late Payne Stewart's success in the same major 11 years ago.
Club president Mark Josefson said: "Hazeltine National Golf Club is excited about bringing the Ryder Cup matches, one of the great events in sports, to Minnesota.
"This fulfils our mission and continues a proud tradition of significant championships at Hazeltine National Golf Club."
Hazeltine will stage this year's USPGA Championship, and again in 2009, before staging the international event between the US and Europe for the first time.
The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1962 and was remodelled by Rees Jones in 1987.
The US will defend its title in September at The Belfry after last year's event was postponed because of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Meanwhile Jacklin - a four-time captain of the European Ryder Cup team - has been elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Jacklin becomes the fourth European Tour member to be elected, following in the footsteps of Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and Bernhard Langer.
" I couldn't be more thrilled. I know I've been close a few times," Jacklin said.
"I am honoured to be joining the many outstanding players."
