It's yet another busy domestic Saturday, with meetings at Cork and Navan, and it's at Navan where Hamouse and Michael Kinane can get punters off to the perfect start with a victory in the opener.

The Jeremy Harley-trained Hamas colt has shown clear signs of ability in his two runs to date and it should be third time lucky now.

On his Leopardstown debut, Hamouse came out best of the near side group when a short head runner-up to the subsequent Marble Hill Stakes winner, Access All Areas. One of today's opponents, Legend Falls, was fourth.

Hamouse's last race was a third to the smart Mitchigan at the Curragh, a perfectly decent effort, and one which has encouraged the significant booking of Kinane for the ride.

The most valuable race at Navan is the £10,000 New York Irish Sweepstakes Handicap Hurdle, where Afarka should be fresh and well having not run since February. Ruby Walsh is likely to give her an ideally patient ride and Afarka is preferred to the Jamie Spencer-ridden Aces And Eights.

In the previous Fifth Avenue Hurdle, a very interesting runner is Noel Furlong's Kayaara, who ran a very promising race when a short head runner-up to Winged Hussar over 12 furlongs at the Curragh recently. That should put this very easy winner of a Downpatrick hurdle last year right in shape to take care of Marlonette.
