England hooker Phil Greening's Lions tour prospects were in the balance yesterday after he suffered a knee injury during training.

"Phil damaged a knee during this afternoon's training session, and the extent of it is currently being assessed by the Lions medical team," said manager Donal Lenihan.

"Phil has been taken for an MRI scan. When the extent of the injury is clear, a further update will be given."

If Greening was to be ruled out of the trip, then Scotland's Gordon Bulloch would probably lead the list of possible replacements.
