Donegal v Cavan to take place in St Tiernach’s Park, Clones

The Ulster football semi-final between Donegal and Cavan will take place in St Tiernach’s Park, Clones on Sunday, May 8th.

The counties won their quarter-finals at the weekend, beating Armagh and Antrim, respectively, to reach the last four but the venue had not been settled.

On Tuesday evening the Ulster Council decided on Clones, probably because of its greater capacity compared to other venues such as Enniskillen or Armagh, where the counties met previously in the 2020 Ulster final when Cavan shocked the defending champions during the pandemic delayed winter championship.

Details of the second semi-final between the winners of next weekend’s quarter-finals between Monaghan-Down and Derry-Tyrone will be finalised after the winners emerge.
