Dublin football manager Ger Brennan has had his 12-week suspension upheld by the GAA’s Central Hearings Committee.

Brennan was given a red card for his involvement in a fracas with Galway strength and conditioning coach Cian Breathnach McGinn during Dublin’s clash with Galway in Division One, which Dublin lost, condemning them to Division Two. At the time, Brennan accepted the red card as merited.

Dublin and Brennan are expected to appeal the decision to the Central Appeals Committee.

The 12-week suspension would mean the Dublin manager would miss his side’s Leinster Championship campaign and the first round of the All-Ireland series. Breathnach McGinn was given an eight-week suspension for his part in the incident.

This is Brennan’s first season at Dublin, having managed Louth to the Leinster title last year, their first title in 68 years.
