FR MANNING GAELS, a team from Drumlish and Ballinamuck, won the Longford senior football title for the first time since 1955 when they proved too strong for Ardagh St Patrick's in a rather one sided final played in front of a 6,000 attendance at Pearse Park. The Gaels were completely on top in the first half and played some delightful football in building up a commanding lead, with man of the match, Padraig Brady, particularly outstanding.
