CAMOGIE:CORK SHOWED that they will not be relinquishing their Gala All-Ireland senior camogie title easily after a gutsy last-ditch victory over Wexford at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The three-in-a-row chasers were heading for a third defeat of the campaign as they trailed the league champions by a point entering extra-time but Síle Burns struck for a goal and then followed up with a point to secure victory.

Skipper Una Leacy was in brilliant form for the visitors and she struck for a trademark goal to give her side the upper hand before Burns confirmed Cork’s place in the semi-finals.

Kilkenny maintained their perfect record but once again Clare showed they are not out of place in this company before falling to a 4-14 to 0-14 scoreline at Corofin.

Galway concluded their campaign with a 4-19 to 2-5 win over Dublin in Portmarnock. Aislinn Connolly was on fire for the Tribeswomen, totting up 2-8.
