Cork qualified to meet Waterford in the semi-final of the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship with a workmanlike victory over Limerick at Pairc Ui Chaoimh yesterday. Their goal came after 48 minutes, when William Deasy scored at the second attempt. His first effort was blocked by goalkeeper Pat Horgan. That made it 1-14 to 0-9, but within a minute Mark Tobin netted at the other end for Limerick.

However Cork were always in control in the remaining 10 minutes to run out deserving winners.
