Colomiers thrashed fellow French side Agen at the Sept-Deniers Stadium yesterday to win the European Conference final and enjoy the biggest success in the club's history.

Colomiers, from just outside Toulouse in south-western France, ran over seven tries to Agen's one and were quick to get off the mark, scoring in the first quarter-hour.

A Stephane Peysson-Bernard De Giusti combination after a scrum on the Colomiers 22-metre line set up Jerome Sieurac, who Sieurac ran 40 metres, and fed Jean-Luc Sadourny, who was supported by winger Dominique Dal Pos. In the ensuing ruck, the ball came out to Sieurac, who sold a dummy before touching down for Colomier's first points. Bernard De Giusti's score followed shortly afterwards. The Agen players tried gamely to stop the relentless pressure and but were continually pushed back by the energy of their opponents.

Christophe Porcu did score a try for Agen, however, the one-way traffic continued. Marc Biboulet scored in the 31st minute, De Giusti went over again in the 37th minute and Sebastien Roque scored just a minute after the interval. Further tries from Yannick Bru and Fabien Galthie, plus a fourth conversion from Mickael Carre, finished off the rout.
