Munster Colleges' SFC Final: Coláiste Chriost Rí won their 14th Corn Uí Mhuirí (Munster Colleges Senior Football Championship) title with an emphatic victory over four-in-a-row-chasing Coláiste na Sceilge at Knocknagree yesterday.
The seeds for their first success since 1998 were sown in the first-half, when they played against the howling wind, but still managed to lead 1-4 to 0-4 at the break. The goal came after 19 minutes with David Coughlan finishing off impressive play by captain Paul Kerrigan. Roy Leahy netted the other goal (36th minute).
Only for the brilliance of goalkeeper Liam Sheehan, Criost Rí's winning margin would have been far greater.
