A blistering performance in the opening half of extra-time in which Jordanstown scored four points without reply was the deciding period in this Sigerson Cup football championship first-round tie at Waterford yesterday. Eight points from Patrick Bradley helped the Ulster college secure a quarter-final place.

Waterford led by a point with three minutes of normal time remaining before Kevin Hughes sent the game to extra-time. Points from Ronan Sexton, Kieran Donnelly and a brace from Bradley saw Jordanstown lead by 0-13 to 0-9 at the break in extra-time.
