Miss Beatrix could earn a trip to Haydock on Saturday for the Group One Betfred Sprint Cup if she satisfactorily comes through an important work-out on the Curragh this morning.

Last year's Moyglare and Goffs Million winner is one of 25 entries for the six-furlong weekend highlight in Britain alongside her stable companion Haatef.

However, trainer Kevin Prendergast indicated that if he is to have a runner against the July Cup winner and likely favourite Sakhee's Secret, it will probably be Miss Beatrix.

"We will make a decision after she works in the morning. She is also in the Matron at Leopardstown but even though she has won at seven furlongs, a mile might be taxing her. We will see what happens when she works," Prendergast said.

Aidan O'Brien's star stayer Yeats has again been given topweight for the Emirates Melbourne Cup on November 6th. Yeats is on 59kgs, approximately 9st 4lb, the same as he carried into seventh last year.

Four other horses from Ballydoyle remain in the race - Scorpion (9-2), Septimus (9-0), Hitchcock (7-12) and Mahler (7-12) - although the picture will be clearer at next Tuesday's declaration stage.

Very few will want to oppose Sunday's very easy Killarney winner Stage Manager when he attempts a quick follow up at Roscommon this evening. A 6lb penalty doesn't look to come close to what Ruby Walsh's mount had in hand at the weekend.

Hazium is another to have won at the weekend, by eight lengths at Down Royal on Saturday, and Pat Morris's horse can also follow up in the first division of the mile-and-a-half handicap.
