The world's most sophisticated doping test for athletes is to be used at the Asian Games in Thailand in December, officials said yesterday.
Ruangsak Siripol, chairman of the 13th Asian Games medical and doping control committee, said Thailand would use a carbon isotope ratio mass spectrometer. The equipment was tested at the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, last February.
"This doping test lab is very accurate. It is able to detect any drug substance even though it's in a low level situation," said Prapin Viliarat, deputy director of the doping control centre.
