Yesterday, four players each claimed their eighth All-Ireland senior hurling championship medal – Henry Shefflin, Eddie Brennan, Michael Kavanagh (who was on the bench yesterday) and Noel Hickey (pictured with John Mulhall who has just picked up his first).

Only two other players have eight All-Ireland senior hurling medals to their name – Tipperary’s John Doyle and Cork’s Christy Ring.
