Interiors Atelier's 10-step interior design process

With 25 years interior design experience, Interiors Atelier's director of design, Sinead Moore gives some insight into their unique process

Interiors Atelier is a Dublin-based interior design practice offering a stress-free comprehensive design service. Through designing both residential and commercial spaces for over 20 years, it has built a reputation for achieving highly individual results for clients by understanding their tastes, lifestyle and needs. Director of design, Sinead Moore outlines their 10-step process for turning your house into the home of your dreams.

1. The consultation process
One of the first things we do is meet you in your home and ask you lots of questions to find out more about you: we want to know your needs, your loves and hates and your lifestyle - we want to know what your home means to you so we can work with you to create your own living space.

2. The design process
We make an appointment for you - in our showroom or your home - to discuss your initial outline designs, to help you visualize your new interiors. We discuss budget and timelines as well as hopes and dreams for your project. In our showroom we have gathered the best fabric, wall coverings, tiling and flooring, which allows us to set the stage for your new interior and give you a glimpse of what's to come.

3. The agreement
We agree the scope of your project and the budget. Upon signing a contract, and committing to an agreed timeframe to complete, we engage on your behalf with the best craftspeople, contractors, tilers, carpenters, painters and any and every other expert required to complete the project to the best standard.

4. The approval
We finalize all your drawings, layouts, custom finishes and details, for sign-off.

5. The supplies
Following approval we begin the purchasing, ordering, shipping and inspecting, to make sure that everything arrives on time and in one piece.

6. The project management
As project managers we oversee and coordinate the entire process from construction, electrical and plumbing to lighting installation, AV and every other facet of the project. We constantly review the process to make sure that your vision is realised correctly. We refer to this part of the process as "taking the pain away", where we ensure that your project comes in on time and on budget.

7. The lines of communication
We keep you fully informed on all aspects of the process on a daily basis. We want clients to be part of the transformation of their home at every stage.

8. The staging
We are now staging for instalation. Everything is in our warehouse being inspected to make sure it's ready for the installation. This is where our experience in scheduling and logistics becomes crucial in making sure your project is delivered on time and on budget.

9. The installation

It’s time to turn your vision into reality. Everything going into the build has been handpicked, from perfect kitchens to beautiful bathrooms, and our "concept to completion" guarantee ensures that we avoid the usual pitfalls of home renovation delays.

10. The big reveal
The cleaners have come and gone. Groceries are in the pantry, flowers are on the table, candles are lit and the wine is decanting. It's time to walk in to your new bespoke interiors transformation.
