Madam, - In last Saturday's Weekend Review, in the article about the Clandeboye music festival, Eileen Battersby made reference to Barry Douglas's wife Deirdre coming from Bangor.
In fact Deirdre is from Lurgan and she and Barry have a house in the town.
I then turned to the Sports Supplement (page 9 - Interprovincials) to read that Gareth Shaw had been selected for the Irish team for the Home Internationals Golf Championships in Co Louth this September.
However, his home club was given as Lisburn. Can I assure you his home club is in fact Lurgan. - Yours, etc,
