Sir, - Can someone explain to me why the Irish trade union movement is demanding a tax give-away in the forthcoming Budget?
Does it not realise that the adverse effects of the inflationary pressure that such a move is likely to create will be felt most by the people it claims to represent?
The way to end poverty and social exclusion in this country is to provide worthwhile jobs in an economy that can compete in highly competitive global markets.
