Sir, – I find it impossible to come to terms with the fact that The Irish Times publishes a wonderful picture of wildlife on its front page (as it does on many occasions), yet when we turn to page 11 we find an article on holidays accompanied by a large picture of tourists riding elephants in Thailand (May 13th). Such poor animals are brutally treated during training.
Let us get the story correct. The message should be that all animals should be valued and treated with respect. – Yours, etc,
