The call of the sea

Sir, – Given that we are all in this together, and the unfortunate fact that Dubliners from the inner city and many of our unfashionable distant suburbs have been barred from the sea and the mountains for much of the last year, and thus are not allowed avail of the physical and mental benefits of these beautiful amenities, I have a suggestion. For the last few months of this lockdown, would the Government consider switching things around and barring the locals from the sea and in their place allowing the other Dubliners come along and use it instead?

And perhaps the departing locals could leave a few DryRobes hanging around for us to use while they are at it. – Yours, etc,

KEN COWLEY,

Dublin 8.
