Sir, - So 43 per cent of the ASTI are willing to settle for a 0 per cent pay rise and a once-off lump sum of £1,750 (most of which will be gone in strike deductions and tax); and 77 per cent do not wish to re-impose the ban on co-operation with the State exams. A bit of a turnaround from the 90 per cent who voted last October to do everything from non-co-operation with the NCCA up to and including all-out strike. Can anybody take the ASTI seriously again? - Yours etc.,
Con Sherin, (Embarrassed ASTI member), Washington Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14.
