Sir, - Television is supposed to be a visual medium, but watching RTE's presentation of Sydney 2000 one would be forgiven for thinking otherwise. Endless pontification and tedious analysis from a panel of so-called "experts", including Eamonn Coghlan, Mick Dowling and Gary O'Toole, have left viewers bored to death with their comments.
Does RTÉ not realise that if these individuals want to waffle on interminably they should do so on radio and leave television free to transmit, without interruption, the pictures from Sydney which viewers are entitled to receive? - Yours, etc.,
