Thing are equally bad in suburban Dublin. Road and street signs are hopelessly inadequate both in numbers and positioning. Only at very few junctions and intersections are the names displayed at both sides so that they can be seen by motorists irrespective of the direction in which they are travelling. The vast majority have the name displayed at one side only and some have no name at all displayed. Others still have the name displayed in such a way that it cannot be seen by motorists no matter in which direction they are travelling.

This situation could well be a contributory factor in road accidents. Surely it is not beyond the capacity of our local authorities to rectify it. - Yours, etc.,
