Saving Moore Street terrace

Sir, – It is outrageous that the Fianna Fáil Minister for Heritage Darragh O’Brien has omitted the very buildings used by the 350 GPO volunteers after evacuating the burning GPO in order to give birth to this, our Republic, from the recent list of Protected Structures?

May I remind the Minister that back in 2011 Pat Wallace of the National Museum stated in a letter to the then minister for culture and heritage, Jimmy Deenihan, that this urban battlefield site was one the most important historical heritage sites in Ireland.
