Sir, - I found Tom Humphries's article, "Internet won't get us happy Luddites" (Sport, February 5th) quite intriguing. While Mr Humphries undoubtedly makes some pertinent points (about few on-line publishers making profits), I find at least one poignant irony: without the Internet, I could not hope to enjoy his uniquely informative and satirical outlook on the sporting world and, indeed, life in general. As Mr Humphries knows, those of us living and working abroad depend on the Internet edition of The Irish Times to keep in touch with HQ. Keep up the good work on-line: it lends a touch of sanity to the lives of the many aliens who inhabit this wacky world of dimpled chads, big cars and Superbowls.By the way, I'm glad Mr Humphries doesn't include those nude photographs! - Yours, etc.,
