Sir, - I read with interest Roger Garland's letter (September 15th) about access being denied to members of the public who wish to enjoy leisure activities in our countryside.

I would be interested to hear his views and those of Keep Ireland Open on the right of access by disabled members of our society to public buildings, such as libraries, social welfare centres, schools and municipal buildings, not to mention hotels, leisure centres, supermarkets, banks, business premises and public transport.

Denial of this basic right is a much more fundamental injustice than the inability of the able-bodied to enjoy leisure activities in the countryside. - Yours, etc.,
